Is there Greatness in you?

With over 3.5 Million members worldwide Freemasonry is the world’s oldest and largest fraternal organisation, built on Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth. Through fellowship, charity, education and leadership, Freemasons are making their lives - and their communities - stronger by the day. Men seek out Masonry for this reason – to better themselves and improve society in the company of like-minded men.

Since 1881 Lodge Southern Cross has welcomed worthy men, regardless of race, creed, or political persuasion, who believe in a Supreme Being and are dedicated to practising and promoting a philosophy of personal development, ethical behaviour, integrity and tolerance which values companionship, mutual support and charitable action into its fraternity.

Today, Freemasonry is the oldest and most widely known of the world's fraternal organisations. Its high ethical and moral standards and values support its claim to be an organisation of excellence which counts for something in today's society. We believe that each person can help make the world a better place through education, philanthropy and community service.

We take pride that our meetings are informative and enjoyable and at each meeting concludes with good food and commeraderie. We are well known for sharing our goodwill and friendly spirit with visitors. Freemasonry is more than just another friendly society or social club; it is a way of life. Our rich traditions and core values of our centuries old fraternity are relevant today and will endure for centuries to come.  Freemasonry proposes to “make good men better” by teaching, with metaphors from geometry and architecture, about building values based on great universal truths.

Today, men are preparing themselves for greatness at Lodge Southern Cross.  We can't guarantee to make anyone great, but the powerful values and important truths that are taught as part of the Masonic tradition have proven to inspire, challenge, and develop leadership in men. Lodge Southern Cross is the best step forward for men of integrity in our community.
