Master Mason Degree & Fellowcraft Degree
On Saturday, 7th December 2013, Lodge Southern Cross will be holding an emergent meeting, travelling to Wyong Masonic Temple to conduct the ritual of raising a candidate to the Sublime degree of a Master Mason.
This is a degree that completes the ‘craft degrees’ of Freemasonry. Once a brother has been raised to this degree, the options to engage himself in his Masonic community are greatly increased.
One opportunity is he can now deliver charges and instructions to brethren in open lodge. This leads to a larger privilege being that he now can be invested as an Officer of the Lodge, more especially the Progressive Offices that lead to him obtaining the qualifications of becoming the Worshipful Master of the Lodge.
Upon reaching the Third Degree, a Mason becomes eligible to petition to join other orders such as the Holy Royal Arch, The Rose Croix and the Knights Templar. Some of these orders may require a pre-requisite of a certain amount of time spent as a Master Mason before they can accept the petition.
For further information or expressions of interest for this particular meeting, please contact the Worshipful Master, W Bro Heath Lester on 0431 000 676
On Tuesday, 10th December 2013, Lodge Southern Cross will be conducting the ritual of passing a candidate to the degree of a Fellowcraft Freemason.
This is a very educational degree that builds upon the foundations that a candidate has learnt in his Entered Apprentice Degree and instructs him on useful and important lessons to grow.
While this may be the shortest craft degree, it has arguably more educational components which many Masons spend the most amount of reflection and engagement upon.
